The Cooling Technology Institute will lead the opening Conference Track 2 Session 1 at the Best Practices 2025 EXPO & Conference in Kansas City, Oct. 21-23. The session, titled CTI Seminar – Cooling Towers In Industrial Plants, will kick off the multi-day Conference Track 2: Maintenance, Reliability & Safety on Oct. 21 from 8 to 10 a.m. Click here to register for the show.

CTI Session speaker lineup
The seminar will be chaired by Frank Foster, Membership Committee Chair, CTI. Attendees will earn 2 PDH credits. The speakers and curriculum for Session 1 include:
-
Rotating & Reciprocating Equipment Foundation Repair – Tom Kline, Senior Technical Director – Concrete Repair Solutions, STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES
A critical component for process equipment is its foundation. The foundation transfers the operating loads from the equipment through the foundation “system” and ultimately to the underlying bearing soils. This presentation will focus on existing foundation trends, design, grout, anchor bolts and foundation assessment. Additionally, vibration analysis, repair guidelines, vibration reduction, as well as increased reliability will be discussed. -
The Importance of CTI Certification for Dry & Adiabatic Coolers – Troy Reineck, Business Development Manager, EVAPCO
Dry and adiabatic coolers serve critical loads in today’s world. Assurance of full thermal performance is crucial to reducing energy consumption as well as meeting sustainability goals. This presentation will review the benefits of CTI Thermal Certification in achieving these goals. - Sound Control Strategies for Cooling Tower Fans – Tony McCauslin, Vice President of Sales, Moore Fans
This presentation examines the noise testing of towers (Cooling Technology Institute ATC-128) and primary options for reducing cooling tower fan noise. Potential strategies include reducing fan rotational speed, adopting specialized low-noise fan designs that optimize aerodynamic performance and implementing variable frequency drives to enable flexible fan operation tailored to cooling load and noise requirements.
Best Practices 2025 EXPO & Conference is introducing five new conference workshops, including the Industrial Cooling Water Workshop. Designed for Cooling Water System Operators, EPC Design Engineers and Heat Rejection Equipment Sales Engineers, this workshop provides brand-neutral best practices for optimizing energy and water savings through lecture, classroom exercises and expert insights from top equipment operators, manufacturers and design engineers. The workshop, sponsored by RWI Enhanced Evaporation, will be led by experts from EVAPCO, SPX Cooling Tech, 3M and Integrated Services Group. Attendees will earn 4 PDH credits. It is included with a conference pass.
