Hoffman & Lamson Introduces Defender Plus Rotary Lobe Blower Package

Hoffman & Lamson launched the Defender Plus rotary lobe blower package, the next generation of the Defender platform. Designed for low-pressure air applications, Defender Plus combines dependable rotary lobe blower technology with advanced controls, remote connectivity and a noise-reducing enclosure to deliver reliable performance in demanding wastewater environments.

The Defender Plus Frame 3 and Frame 4 packages are available in enclosed configurations ranging from 25 to 300 horsepower, supporting airflow capacities up to 3,400 icfm. Fixed-speed and variable-speed configurations are available, allowing airflow to adapt to changing process demands while supporting dependable continuous-duty performance.  

The Defender Plus has a variety of features, including Smart Governor touchscreen controls, real-time diagnostics and performance visibility, historical trending and maintenance tracking. The package also has ICONN™ remote monitoring capability and SCADA-ready integration. It’s a compact, factory-packaged design with front-access maintenance for simplified service and a sound-attenuating enclosure for quieter operation.

The package combines proven blower technology with intelligent controls and predictive maintenance capabilities to help operators optimize performance while reducing downtime. The result is a complete blower package solution designed to simplify operation, improve visibility and support long-term reliability.  

The Defender Plus is suited for a range of wastewater treatment processes, including aeration processes, grit and channel aeration, primary sedimentation support, filter and sand backwashing, lagoon and equalization basin mixing, wet well mixing and denitrification processes.
