Industrial Sustainability Best Practices Conference 2025 Announces Presentation on Compressed Air Monitoring

02/26/2025

The Industrial Sustainability Best Practices Conference, taking place June 17-18 in Castelldefels, Barcelona, Spain, announced the presentation “Continuous Monitoring of Residual Oil Content in Compressed Air,” led by Danny Gillis, Performance Expert – Compressed Air & Gases, CS INSTRUMENTS.

When you take a close look at air compressor or filter specifications following ISO 8573-1, you should think Class 1 or even Class 0 seems easily achievable – but is it really that simple in practice? Online residual oil meters have been around for 20 years and have continued to see improvements.

This presentation will cover the mixing of new and old available measurement solutions. Attendees will explore process safety within food and pharma applications, gain insight on the current possibilities, learn how to reliably measure oil vapor and aerosols, and review how to interpret measured values.

The Conference will be led by 24 industrial experts with presentations covering the event’s main focus topics including energy/water conservation and food-safe system design and quality verification.

Danny Gillis, Performance Expert – Compressed Air & Gases, CS INSTRUMENTS

Gillis began his career in 1993 in the R&D department of the world’s largest air compressor manufacturing plant. During the 1990s, he conducted numerous residual oil measurements on oil-lubricated, screw air compressors as part of his involvement in designing compressor oil circuits. Gillis has worked as a consultant for various brands, specializing in oil-lubricated and oil-free air compressor installations and purification. Currently, he serves as a performance engineer, specializing in measurement technology for compressed air, with a focus on quality, quantity and losses.
